Highlands Christian Academy and Grace Church are pleased to welcome Mr. Anthony Eubanks as the new Dean of Students for 2019-2020! Mr. Eubanks comes to Highlands with years of experience working with students, and we are confident our school will benefit from his leadership, teaching, mentoring, and coaching.
“We are thankful to have Mr. Eubanks join the Highlands family,” says Highlands Head Administrator Dr. Lawrence. “Tony has served as both a youth pastor and senior pastor, and he has taught and coached at Christian schools. He also passionately mentored high school and college student athletes while serving as Executive Director of Youth for Christ in Nashville, Tennessee, and as Urban Ministry Director for Youth for Christ in Atlanta, Georgia. He has been honored on the United States Congressional House Floor for his continued work, service, and efforts in mentoring young people. Congressman J. Gresham Barrett from South Carolina stated that he is ‘proud to have a citizen who is so truly dedicated to strengthening our youth.’”
Mr. Eubanks loves athletics, and Athletic Director Paul Pridemore is thrilled he will be on the Highlands campus this year! “I am excited to have Anthony as part of our team at HCA,” Paul shares. “Anthony and I played college basketball together at Tennessee Temple University and served as co-captains. I know he will bring vision and excitement to our program. He is a man of strong character and will be a strong Christian mentor. He will also be a great addition to our basketball program as he will be coaching the varsity girls. Let’s welcome Tony Eubanks to our Highlands family!”
Tony’s background in high school and college athletics led to him playing professional basketball in Europe and the Middle East. Then, during off seasons, he had the incredible opportunity of traveling as a youth evangelist. Mr. Eubanks later went on to serve as Chaplain of the University of Georgia basketball team and Chaplain of the Clemson University football team.
“Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might…” This verse from Ecclesiastes 9 was quoted and modeled in Mr. Eubank’s home as he grew up, and over the years became something he strove for in all areas of life. We are excited to see his passion for excellence is already serving as an inspiration to our Highlands students and community.
Mr. Eubanks and his wife, The Honorable Wynée Eubanks, have two children: Anthony II lives in Nashville, and Kennedy recently moved to South Florida to join the Highlands Knights teaching and coaching staff.
Welcome to South Florida and the Highlands family, Mr. Eubanks!
