HCA Elementary Students are Learning to Know and Love Christ!

Elementary Students are . . .

*Taught the Word of God in Bible class and other subjects
*Challenged by the Word of God in morning classroom devotions and weekly chapel
*Encouraged by the Word of God through the personal example of their teachers
*Motivated to live out the Word of God both at HCA and in everyday life

Elementary Bible Class Curriculum

K5 – Learning about God
This kindergarten study teaches children about God through the lives of major characters in the Bible. Included are activities that help children comprehend and apply Bible truths. K5 students memorize a new Bible verse almost every week of the school year and recite it to their teacher at the end of the week. (Positive Action for Christ Bible Curriculum)

1st Grade – Enjoying God’s Gifts
First graders focus on the many gifts provided for us by God—including creation, our families, friends, Jesus Christ, and God’s care for us. Students memorize a new Bible verse almost every week of the school year and recite it to their teacher at the end of the week. (Positive Action for Christ Bible Curriculum)

2nd Grade – Finding God’s Promises
Students will study the life of Moses through the book of Exodus. The promises of God become evident as the Israelites and their leader see both victory and tribulation while learning to trust God. Students memorize a new Bible verse almost every week of the school year and recite or write it at the end of the week. (Positive Action for Christ Bible Curriculum)

3rd Grade – Growing with God
The lives of Abraham, Jacob, Joseph, and Daniel teach third graders a lot about the rewards of living for God. All of these men faced rejection, but all of them remained faithful to God. Students will develop strong character as they draw upon the experiences of these men. Students memorize a new Bible verse almost every week of the school year which is included on their Bible quiz at the end of the week. (Positive Action for Christ Bible Curriculum)

4th Grade – Building Life Castles
Our lives are like a castle that is being built into a strong and beautiful edifice. This concept is presented as the students study the New Testament, focusing on the life of Christ, the work of the Holy Spirit, and the life and writings of the Apostle Paul. Students memorize a new Bible verse almost every week of the school year which is included on their Bible quiz at the end of the week. (Positive Action for Christ Bible Curriculum)

5th Grade – Possessing the Land
A survey of the Old Testament is the basis of this study. Beginning in Genesis, students will gain a much clearer perspective of how the stories of the Old Testament fit together into one pattern. Students memorize a new Bible verse almost every week of the school year which is included on their Bible quiz at the end of the week. (Positive Action for Christ Bible Curriculum)
