Highlands Welcomes Mr. Patrick Brown as New Guidance Counselor
Highlands Christian Academy is pleased to announce Mr. Patrick Brown as the new Guidance Counselor for the 2019-2020 school year. Mr. Brown will be moving across campus this month from the human resources office where he has served Grace and Highlands for the past three years.
Mr. Brown is excited and passionate about working with Highlands secondary students. He shares, “My two goals are to help students have the most opportunities possible at graduation and to help students realize their individual talents and gifts within the scope of God’s purpose for their lives.”
Patrick received his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a minor in Life Coaching from Liberty University. While pursuing a master’s in mental health counseling, Patrick sensed God leading him to switch his degree track to school counseling so he might encourage and support teens as they seek to find God’s purpose for their lives. He graduated from Palm Beach Atlantic University last December with a Master’s in Science in School Counseling. Prior to his college studies, Patrick served as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps for eight years and is an Iraqi Freedom War veteran.
This fall, when the Brown family leaves home in the morning, they will all be coming together to Highlands! While Mr. Brown serves in Guidance and Mrs. Brittany Brown serves as Admissions Director, their two daughters will be in preschool and second grade.
In order to ensure a smooth transition for our students, Mr. Brown is currently working alongside Jeff Sullivan who has served in the Guidance Counselor role for the past three years. Our appreciation and prayers go with Mr. Sullivan as he takes on the exciting role of student pastor at a local church.
