Mrs. DeWitt Honored for 37 Years at Highlands
Congratulations to Mrs. Sally DeWitt on her retirement after 37 years at Highlands!
This past Friday evening at graduation, Dr. Lawrence recognized and honored Mrs. DeWitt for her faithfulness at Highlands. She first served as a 4th grade teacher and then as administrative assistant to Mr. Lopez and Dr. Lawrence.
“The greatest compliment I can give, I give to her,” shared Dr. Lawrence. “Sally has a servant’s heart. She truly understands what Jesus meant when He said the greatest among us is the one who serves. I have been the most impressed by the fact that she willingly strives to make others successful. She not only sees that I know what day it is and where I need to be, but she does it for so many others…doing whatever it takes to bless Highlands. Mrs. DeWitt does not seek others’ acknowledgement. She just keeps asking, ‘What can I do to help?’”
Congratulations, Mrs. DeWitt, on 37 years at Highlands! You are deeply loved by so many students, alumni, parents, and staff (present and past). We all echo the thoughts your friend and co-worker Shannon Ratzlaff recently shared: “Thank you, Sally, for being a role model, mentor, confidant, and friend…Enjoy your never-ending spring break and summer!”
