Grace Baptist Church and Highlands Christian Academy Welcome New Senior Pastor, Dr. Gary Colboch
Grace Baptist Church and Highlands Christian Academy welcome new senior pastor, Dr. Gary Colboch, and his wife, Flora! The Colbochs will begin their ministry here in March.
The members of Grace voted in Dr. Colboch last Sunday after a wonderful week meeting him, hearing him share his heart for the Lord and ministry, as well as his message from God’s Word on Sunday morning about being “salt and light” for Christ in our community.
“It is exciting to see how God has provided a Pastor for Grace Baptist who is a strong advocate for Christian education,” Headmaster Ken Lopez shares. “Dr. Colboch is a man of God who has vast experience and involvement in Christian schools, and will be a blessing to the staff, students, and families at Highlands Christian Academy. We look forward to the impact he and his wife, Flora, will have on the entire ministries of GBC and HCA.”
Dr. Gary Colboch grew up at Northwest Baptist Church in Miami, Florida. When his family moved to Hollywood, Florida, he attended First Baptist of West Hollywood, where, at age 17, he was saved, baptized, and called into the ministry. He graduated from Hollywood Christian High School and went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Youth Ministries at Baptist University of America. Dr. Colboch graduated from Luther Rice Bible College and Seminary with a Master’s Degree in Ministry and then earned a Doctorate of Ministry at Andersonville Theological Seminary.
While at Baptist University of America Dr. Colboch met his wife, Flora, who has partnered in her husband’s ministry for over thirty years. Mrs. Colboch enjoys discipling women and teaching children at Awana, Sunday School, and preschool. She enjoys cooking so much that she has made Wednesday night church dinners for more than 100 people every week for the past 10 years.
Pastor Colboch served nine years as a youth and children’s pastor in Marietta, Georgia. He was the Youth/Associate/Executive Pastor at Berean Baptist in West Palm Beach for ten years, interacting significantly with Berean Christian School. While the Senior Pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Hartsville, South Carolina, he had administrative oversight of Emmanuel Christian School where both the church and the school doubled in size during his fourteen years there.
The Colboch’s have three daughters. Lindsay is a sophomore at Florence-Darlington Technical College in South Carolina; Bethany is employed as a graphic designer at Redemption Church in Greenville, South Carolina; Courtney is married and employed as an RN at Lynchburg Regional Medical Center in Virginia. Both Bethany and Courtney are alumni of Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia.
Please pray for Pastor and Mrs. Colboch as they prepare to move to South Florida and begin their ministry at Grace Baptist Church and Highlands Christian Academy.
