HCA Launches Preschool Enrichment Program
Highlands Christian Academy is pleased to announce the successful launch of the new afternoon enrichment program appropriately named PREPARE (Pre-School Preparation for Academic Readiness and Enrichment) this past Monday, August 22. The PREPARE program has been designed to expand upon the current state-recommended 3-hour VPK program, enrich the educational experience for students, and help prepare them to excel in HCA’s advanced curriculum both now and in elementary grades to come.
PREPARE will supplement the conventional preschool curriculum and include hands-on projects which will expose students to life and reasoning skills. There will also be additional one-on-one instruction for students with academic concerns.
HCA PREPARE instructors Mrs. Ginger Alvarez, Mrs. Telma DaSilva, and Mrs. Robin Peters are looking forward to a wonderful year of learning with their students. Elementary Principal Mrs. Dawn Utz says she is excited about the launch of the PREPARE program at Highlands. “This new program will provide our preschool students with additional academic and enrichment opportunities to aide in student learning and academic achievement,” she shares. “I am confident that the PREPARE afternoon enrichment program will benefit all students who participate.”
Students participating in PREPARE will have their regular school morning classes, followed by lunch and quiet time. PREPARE classes will then take place from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m., with daycare beginning at 3:00 p.m. Parents may enroll their K3 and K4 students prior to the beginning of each semester. For questions about the PREPARE program, parents may contact the main school office at 954-421-1747 x1000.
