HCA Congratulates Dr. & Mrs. Wingenroth on Retirement
Highlands Christian Academy congratulates Pastor Brian and Mrs. Debbie Wingenroth on their retirement after 11 years of ministry at Grace Baptist Church and 35 years in the pastoral ministry. Mrs. Wingenroth has also taught 3rd grade at Highlands for the past 10 years.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord…will award to me…and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.”
2 Timothy 4:7-9
Dr. Brian Wingenroth trusted Jesus as his Savior at the age of seven. In his early twenties, after receiving his B.S. in Business Administration, the Lord called him from the business field to serve in full-time ministry. He returned to Bible college and then went on to train for the ministry, receiving his Master of Divinity at Baptist Bible School of Theology. Upon completing seminary training, the Lord called him to the field of Christian education for four years before directing him to the pastoral ministry. After pastoring for a number of years, Brian began and completed his Doctor of Ministry Degree from Grace Theological Seminary.
Debbie Wingenroth trusted Christ as her Savior as a teenager. She received her B.S. in Elementary Education at Bryan College and has shared Brian’s desire over the years to serve the Lord wherever he called them.
Together they have served in multiple ministries including Brian’s 7 years as Senior Pastor at New Glarus Baptist Bible Church; 17 years as Senior Pastor of Farmington Hills Baptist Church; and 11 years as Senior Pastor here at Grace Baptist Church and Highlands Christian Academy. Pastor and Debbie have visited the mission fields in Yugoslavia, the Philippines, Japan, Argentina, Uganda, Belgium, and Chile. They have also traveled abroad twice with the senior class of Highlands, sharing their passion of living a life fully surrendered to Jesus Christ.
The Wingenroths have two children, Alissa and Matthew; a son-in-law, Ian; and are the very proud grandparents of Caralynn and Jack. They will be moving to Georgia, near their grandchildren and where Debbie is hoping to continue her teaching career.
The love and prayers of Grace Baptist Church and Highlands Christian Academy are with the Wingenroths on their retirement and move to Georgia. “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you … and give you peace.”
