Theater Students Deliver $600.00 to Help Hurting Kids
Highlands Christian Academy students are reaching out into the community! Each spring at Highlands, the Theater Department produces a musical involving students ranging in age from elementary through seniors in high school. This year, the musical staff decided to benefit the local community through donations collected on opening night of Anne of Green Gables. They were able to present a check for over $600 to 4Kids of South Florida, which will go towards helping abused, neglected, and hurting children right in their own backyards. They also received a tour of the new 4Kids facilities.
Presenting the check were Miss Julie Method (Musical Director), Mrs. Shannon Ratzlaff (Musical Producer – not pictured), along with students Abigail Canning, Vicky Good, Jenna Gauthier, and Megan Price. Receiving the check on behalf of 4Kids were staff members Kevin Granato (HCA Class of 2007) and Tori Purchase (youth worker at Grace Baptist and aunt of several HCA students).
Highlands Christian Academy is delighted with the Theater Department’s effort in connecting with the community and how the theater staff is teaching students by example to help others in need.
