Mrs. Wingenroth’s 3rd Graders Join Country in Prayer
Mrs. Wingenroth’s 3rd graders and other HCA classes joined our country in prayer today. These students prayed for our country, our government, elections, the military, missionaries, the homeless in our community, our school, students who don’t know Christ, and other concerns near and dear to their hearts.
Students at Highlands are taught by example to bring their praise and thanksgiving, as well as needs and requests, to God in prayer. Classes begin in prayer, and throughout the day, prayer is a continual focus.
The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May. It was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress, and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman.
“Give attention to your servant’s prayer and his plea for mercy, Lord my God. Hear the cry and the prayer that your servant is praying in your presence this day.” – 1 Kings 8:28
