Ten years ago, on October 21, 2015, Hurricane Wilma swept through South Florida leaving the region with flooding, darkness, and major destruction. The campus of Highlands Christian Academy and Grace Baptist Church took a hard hit from the storm and suffered 3.2 million dollars in damage.

The Grace and Highlands family jumped into action, working with a unified spirit to clean up the property. Highlands was closed for a week, and when students returned, they had classes without power for another week. Church services, assemblies, and school chapels were moved to the gymnasium for 18 months while the sanctuary was gutted and reconstructed. Today, we look back with grateful hearts for God’s faithfulness, provisions, and resources—and for His continual blessing upon our school and church.

Not to us, Lord, not to us, but to your name be the glory because of your love and faithfulness. – Psalm 115:1
