Award Descriptions
The Helper Award- This award recognizes students who are willing to come to class early, stay late, and help the director with anything that they may need.
The Leadership Award- This award recognizes students who are postive examples of how to behave and participate in class.
The Most Improved Award- This award recognizes students who have stood out as developing their musical skills during the year.
The Spirit Award- This award recognizes students who have a great attitude about class and enjoy being involved in every aspect of music in school.
Outstanding Member Award- This award is one of the highest awards given in sixth grade. It recognizes students who have put in extra effort and are well on their way to becoming excellent musicians.
Most Contributing Award- This award recognizes leaders in each section of the performing ensemble.
Directors Award- This is a national award given to the top students in band and choir. It can be given to students of any age.
National School Choral Award- This is the highest national award given for choir. It is almost always given to a senior who has dedicated at least four years of excellent service and musicianship to various vocal performing groups.
John Philip Sousa Award- This is the highest national award given for band. It is almost always given to a senior who has dedicated at least four years of excellent service and musicianship to the instrumental program.
