Student Achievement
Students have many opportunities to shine and be recognized at Highlands on a monthly basis and also at Awards Chapel each May.
- Student of the Month – Selected by each teacher each month for excellent character and academic effort
- Principal’s Pal Award – Recognitions for students with noteworthy exemplary actions throughout the school year
- Special Class Stars – Recognitions given quarterly for PE, computer, art, music, and Spanish students
- Perfect Attendance Award – Awarded each May to students with perfect attendance all school year
- Good Attendance – Awarded each May to students with only one absence that school year
- A/B Honor Roll – A distinction each marking period to given students with all A’s and B’s – and no N’s or U’s in conduct (N = Needs Improvement; U = Unsatisfactory)
- A Honor Roll – Distinction given to students each marking period with all A’s – and no N’s or U’s in conduct
- Excellent Academics Award – Awarded each May to students with an A average in all subjects all year – and no N’s or U’s in conduct
- GGood Academics Award – Awarded each May to students with an A/B average in all subjects all year – and no 4’s or 5’s in conduct
- Christian Character Award – Special award given in May to two students per class
- Principal’s Award – Highest academic/character award presented in May to two students per class
- Personal Achievement Awards – Awarded in May to students with outstanding personal growth and effort throughout the school year
- Reading Contest Award – Presented to top three reading contest winners per class
- Science Fair Winners – 1st through 3rd place, along with honorable mentions, given to 2nd and 5th graders for their Science Fair projects
